Why did my PDF to Word conversion lose some formatting? PDFs don't contain paragraph or heading structure — just text and images placed at exact positions on the page. Converting to Word means reconstructing that structure, which works best when the PDF was originally created from a Word or Google Docs file. Why did my Excel to PDF conversion split across multiple pages? The PDF follows whatever print area, page orientation and scaling is set in your spreadsheet. If you haven't set a print area, Excel's default page size is used, which can cause a wide sheet to split across pages. Setting your print area and orientation in Excel's Print Preview before converting will match the PDF to what you expect. What's the difference between JPEG, PNG and WEBP? JPEG uses lossy compression and produces small files, which makes it a good default for photos, but it doesn't support transparency. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, making it the better choice for logos, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges — at the cost of larger file sizes for photos. WEBP typically produces the smallest files of the three at a similar quality level and supports transparency, though a small number of older tools don't support it yet. Why does compressing a file change how it looks? Compression reduces file size by discarding some visual information. For images this can mean slightly softer detail in busy areas; for PDFs, embedded images are typically downsampled to a lower resolution. This is rarely noticeable for on-screen use, but keep your original file if you plan to print at high quality.
